Death's Dance of Two

It's times like this that I almost miss ballet. But that's where I get to live vicariously through my own characters.

This is Miranda, mother of Carman (Remember her waaaaay back when? [link]), and Carman's father, a fallen angel. (Possibly the fallen angel Azazel. I'm still researching that.) Carman's mother, before her death, was a fledgling professional dancer. And ballet poses are PRETTY.

I've been listening to old recordings of Swan Lake, having the realization of how much Carman's father was, metaphorically speaking, the Black Swan Odile (If you have no idea what I'm talking about: [link]). He took on a guise that ended up costing Miranda her life, and damning the daughter that was the product of their union.

Heavy influence of the new Black Swan movie (which looks disturbing and amazing at the same time), since that's what got me listening to the main suite. (If you have no idea what it is, here: [link])
